InfoComm Preview: See us at Booth C9225!

Monday, June 11th, 2012

Alcorn McBride Inc. will be making headlines at InfoComm 2012 by introducing three important products, announcing a product upgrade and hosting a Manufacturer’s training session and cutting-edge technology seminar.  The company’s booth, C9225, will be located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

In product news, TourTraXX, RideTraxx and AMI/O will make their debut at InfoComm and ShowTouch for Apple iPad will get an update.

A GPS-triggered multi-channel vehicle audio player designed for up to 16 audio tracks, TourTraXX is ideal for pre-recorded bus tours, trolleys, shuttles and trams.  It stores clips in MP3 format on CompactFlash for a rugged, reliable and maintenance-free solution to playback needs.  It is lightweight (4 lbs.), sized to fit almost anywhere and, with no moving parts, works in high-vibration environments.  Once programmed with the free and easy to use GPS Builder, TourTraXX steps through cues automatically as it moves through defined geographical zones.

ISE 2012

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Larry and I just got back from ISE 2012 in Amsterdam.  Despite the frigid temperatures, it was a great show.  It’s a big show extending through multiple exhibit halls that are all fairly disconnected but people found us without a problem.  I guess it helps to be next to a pizza stand!

We showed off ProTraXX, V16 Pro, Touch, DMX OverRide, the Digital Binloop HD, the Digital Video Machine HD and our MediaFlow workflow solution.

Touch can be downloaded at no charge from our website.  For a complete hardware solution, ShowTouch is our rugged and fully customizable touch panel. The 90 minute course is approved for 1 CTS RU.  Please email me at loren@alcorn.com for more details.

Hope to see you there!

Reflections on ISE 2011

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

I just returned from ISE 2011 and it was a great show.  Really busy and a lot to see.  The show gets a similar audience to InfoComm with a decidedly more international flair.  A lot of displays, everything from Digital Signage to a home/yacht captain’s chair with a joystick (more on that later).

Some of the highlights for me were -

  1. Our booth location – We were between two halls which was a little daunting at first but there was a lot of traffic between the two halls and it would come right in front of our booth.  So that worked out!

IAAPAly Ever After

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

IAPPA 2010 was a fun and productive event.  A bit smaller than I remember from last year, but the industry greats were still all there.  On the last day of the show, I had time to walk around, catch up with other exhibitors, and try out some of the latest things on the show floor.  Although I am not in the market to buy mass amounts of body glitter, semi-permanent tattoos, and hundreds of over-sized stuffed animals, it was certainly fun to participate in these theme park activities without waiting!

Steve's new book featured in the IAAPA store

Audio, video, lighting, show control, and chips on a stick!  That means one thing-it’s IAAPA time!  We are exhibiting at booth 465 near the TEA Booth, BRC, Electrosonic, Jack Rouse, and Roto Studios.  Every company has a great looking booth, including ours I might add.  So far people are thrilled with our Touch for iPad app (available in Dec).  We had several clients stop in their tracks when they saw our popular software on the iPad.  This offers another level of flexibility to our Pro Line of show controllers.  I actually had one client say “Really?  YAY!”   Nice job Ryan (our engineer on this project).  Our Digital Binloop HD is front and center and video seems to be the biggest generator of booth traffic so far.

IAAPA Preshow Preview

Monday, November 8th, 2010
We are exhibiting at IAAPA again this year, and I must say, I am pretty excited the show is making a home in Orlando for the next ten years!  Not that I dislike Vegas, but as a Trade Show organizer, things just get a bit simplified when the shows are in our backyard.

ProTraXX coming soon!

So, what have we been up to since the last IAAPA?  We have upgraded and expanded our “TraXX” line.  The all new 8TraXX now has Ethernet for remote updating.  The ProTraXX provides high quality MP3 audio playback with added features such as a mic/aux input for zone paging.  We are also introducing TourTraXX, an all new product designed specifically for GPS applications.

…and iPhone/iPad apps?  Yes we developed those too!  Try our LightingPad app for DMX control and diagnostics, or Touch for iPad, the portable touchscreen interface for the V16Pro and V4Pro show controllers.

We will release more info on the new products and cut sheets after the show along with a refreshed website!  Hope to see you at IAAPA…

Touch for iPad! Available soon in the app store

Notes from the SBE Show

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Tommy Bridges spent last week in Syracuse NY with his friends from the Society of Broadcast Engineers Chapter 22. Tommy and his band have been regulars at the show for many years. Chuck Zarriello with Com Tech shared booth space with Alcorn McBride to show off our new SetPlayer series. Designed for easy and economical on-set video playback, these units caught attention at this Broadcasters show!   Tommy’s Band played at the Member reception and he also served as a judge for the show. Thank you Chuck for hosting us! Click here to learn more about Com Tech and this link will take you to the SetPlayer info.

Here are a few snapshots from the event.
